Business Solutions Toolkit lets customers reduce energy use, bills

PORTLAND, Ore. – To further assist business customers, Pacific Power will conduct a free internet seminar at 10 a.m., Nov. 5. The one-hour session is designed to help commercial customers discover and implement energy efficiency opportunities.

The webinar will show Pacific Power business customers how to get the most of the company’s newly-launched Business Solutions Toolkit. The toolkit is a package of free, online resources that provide customers advice and information for managing their energy use and costs.
The toolkit includes industry-specific benchmark data, interactive analysis tools, energy-saving recommendations a library of online energy information resources. The toolkit also includes a real-time “Ask an Expert” service where customers can get answers to their own energy questions. Customers can access the toolkit at: pacificpower.net/toolkit.
“We wanted to provide our customers with another service that helps them save energy, increase profits and compete in this tough economic climate,” said Pat Egan, Pacific Power vice president for community and customer affairs.
Through the online toolkit, customers can even conduct energy self-assessments just by filling in basic facts about their facility and reviewing customized data designed to help them make informed energy saving decisions.
Since its introduction during the summer of 2009, the toolkit has been among the most used business resources on Pacific Power’s Web site.
“We focus on providing customers with the service they expect and information they need,” said Egan. “These tools provide just a bit more at a particularly critical time for all businesses. Saving energy can help customers reduce cost. Those pennies can add up, and that is crucial in today’s economy.”
