Pacific Power Posts $10,000 Cash Reward

Pacific Power is offering a $10,000 cash reward for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of an individual who stole a company truck and injured a Pacific Power lineman during the theft in the area of Happy Camp, Calif., early Friday morning, December 30. The employee was seriously injured in the theft and the company is considering the act an assault against the employee.

A Pacific Power lineman was working in the lift bucket of the white Ford F550 bucket truck early Friday morning when an individual started the vehicle and began to drive. The employee used the remote engine kill-switch multiple times but the assailant repeatedly re-started the vehicle and continued to drive. The lineman was thrown from the bucket at a height of approximately 25 feet and suffered serious multiple injuries. He was transported to Rogue Valley Medical Center in Medford, Ore., once his condition was stabilized.

The vehicle was last seen traveling west through Happy Camp and has not been recovered, though law enforcement is pursuing several leads to locate the vehicle.

Anyone with information regarding the vehicle and identifying the assailant should immediately contact California Highway Patrol at 530-841-6000 or any local law enforcement. Valid information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspect and recovery of the vehicle will qualify for the cash reward of $10,000 offered by Pacific Power.
