On the Swan River

Pacific Park and the trail on the south side of the Swan River will be closed for at least two days starting Oct. 24, to complete essential maintenance on the canal that runs above the trail.

A section of the canal is being relined and heavy equipment will be in the area for a short time.  The active construction zone extends the length of the canal and downstream to the Swan River.  Public access will be impared by the construction, and using the trail within the active construction zone would be unsafe, so a temporary closure is needed.  The company's work plan calls for a two day closure Oct. 24-25 but the work could extend beyond that.  The area is being posted so that frequent users will know about the closure.  The Swan River Nature Trail on the north side of the river is not affected by this closure.
