Addressing Environmental Concerns
PacifiCorp is working to balance customers' growing energy needs with environmental concerns.
The company employs innovative air quality initiatives to reduce its environmental impacts. With our primary focus on reducing or avoiding emissions altogether, we continuously develop and implement strategies to improve our emissions performance.
To reduce environmental impacts, PacifiCorp has programs addressing wildlife protection, wetlands preservation, reducing hydroelectric facilities' impact on fish, plant relicensing, and bird interactions with power lines and wind turbines. The company also uses land reclamation techniques to restore habitat after completing mining operations.
Reuse, reduce, recycle. This slogan has been a part of American culture for decades, but it's an everyday activity for PacifiCorp, which is minimizing its environmental footprint through its waste reuse and recycling programs.
Global Climate Change
PacifiCorp recognizes the global concern about climate change and incorporates climate change into corporate strategy. Among other projects, the company is developing additional renewable generation and helping to preserve more than 1.6 million acres of rainforest in Belize and Bolivia.
