Ben Lomond to Terminal

Project Overview

As part of the Populus to Terminal segment, the Ben Lomond to Terminal section will add a new double-circuit, 345-kilovolt transmission line stretching approximately 46 miles from the existing Ben Lomond Substation in Box Elder County to the existing Terminal Substation located near the Salt Lake City airport. The line is being built alongside existing high-voltage lines. Construction is now underway on this section.

Project Timeline

  • Informational meetings – October 2007-September 2008
  • Permitting and obtaining rights of way – December 2007-October 2008
  • Construction – February 2009-June 2010
  • Estimated line in service for customers – June 2010

Public input is an important part of the transmission line development process. Our company has gathered input during public open houses, such as those held in 2007 and 2008.
