Hydro
PacifiCorp owns 30 hydropower facilities, located in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Utah, Montana and California.
With a total generating capacity of 971 megawatts (MW) of electricity, our hydro resources power households and businesses across the West.
The lands and water along these facilities also provide recreational opportunities for visitors to enjoy, and support thriving wildlife habitats.
Hydroelectric facilities
Hydroelectric projects generally operate under licenses issued by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC). A hydroelectric license includes terms and conditions for project operations, as well as environmental protection, mitigation and enhancement measures to mitigate project impacts on the surrounding environment and natural resources.

Ashton
The Ashton Plant is located on the Henry’s Fork of the Snake River, approximately 2.5 miles west of Ashton, Idaho.
Bear River
The Bear River Hydroelectric Project in southeastern Idaho generates 77 MW of emission-free energy.
Bigfork
The 4.15-MW Bigfork Hydroelectric Project is located on the Swan River in Flathead County, Montana.
Condit
The Condit Hydroelectric Project was located on the White Salmon River in south-central Washington, before it was decommissioned in 2012.
Cutler
The Cutler Project Dam is located in Box Elder County, Utah, approximately 13 miles northwest of Logan, Utah.
Klamath River
The Klamath River Renewal Corporation is working to decommission and remove four dams on the Klamath River formerly owned by PacifiCorp. PacifiCorp owns three hydroelectric facilities on the Klamath River and one non-generating dam.
Lewis River
Located in southwestern Washington, the Lewis River Hydroelectric Project generates 578 MW of emission-free energy.
North Umpqua River
The 194 MW North Umpqua Hydroelectric Project is located in Douglas County, Oregon.
Pioneer
Built in 1897, PacifiCorp’s 5 MW Pioneer Hydroelectric Project is located in Weber County, Utah.
Rogue River
PacifiCorp operates five developments in the Rogue River basin, which generate a total of 52 MW of emission-free energy.
Stairs
The Stairs Hydroelectric Project, constructed in 1896, is located just east of the mouth of Big Cottonwood Canyon in Utah.
Wallowa Falls
The 1.1 MW Wallowa Falls Hydroelectric Project is located in Wallowa County on the East Fork Wallowa River.
Weber
The Weber Hydroelectric Project is approximately nine miles southeast of Ogden, Utah, near the mouth of Weber Canyon on the Weber River.
